Stanton “Larry” Stein Named to The Hollywood Reporter’s “Top 100 Power Lawyers” List APRIL 2018

Stanton “Larry” Stein was selected for inclusion in the twelfth annual “Top 100 Power Lawyers” report, which was published this week by The Hollywood Reporter. He was among the lawyers honored at a breakfast held at Spagos, in Beverly Hills, on April 4, 2018.

To determine the entertainment industry’s 100 most influential attorneys, The Hollywood Reporter researches the biggest deals and legal cases of the past year. Lawyers are identified as talent dealmakers, litigators or corporate dealmakers and evaluated against their peers based on cases won/nature of deals closed as well as their reputation within the entertainment legal community.

Stanton “Larry” Stein is the head of Russ August & Kabat’s Media & Entertainment group. His clients include actors, writers, directors, producers, musicians, high-net-worth individuals, entertainment guilds, talent agencies, personal and business management companies, independent production companies, and interactive gaming companies.

Russ August & Kabat Wins American Rag V. Haralambus Appeal August 2017

Russ August & Kabat won an affirmance of a post-judgment order exonerating its appeal bond from the California Court of Appeal, Second Appellate District for client American Rag. The case was argued by Russ August & Kabat attorney Nathan D. Meyer. The appeal involved the scope of a surety’s obligation in connection with bonding an appeal, discussed by Southern California Appellate News here. The Court of Appeal affirmed the ruling and held the surety’s obligations were limited the express monetary judgment on the face of the original judgment. Read the Opinion.
